Jessica L. Defino is a partner at Angelini & DiLeo Law in Oak Brook, Illinois. For more than a decade, she has devoted her practice to family law. She represents clients in divorce, before and after judgment, including high-net-worth divorce, as well as in parentage cases, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, modifications of parental responsibilities and parenting time, and orders of protection. She also handles guardianship and adoption matters, as well as DCFS appeals. She appears regularly in the circuit courts of DuPage, Kane, DeKalb, Cook, Kendall, and LaSalle Counties.

Since 2017, courts in DuPage County have appointed Jessica as a Guardian ad Litem to represent the best interests of children in family law proceedings, and she serves in the same role in Kane County. She completed mediation training at Northwestern University in 2020 and serves as a mediator in both court-appointed and voluntary mediations. Both roles give her a perspective on family disputes beyond that of either party, which she brings to every matter she handles for clients.

Jessica takes on difficult and contentious cases and is prepared to litigate when a case requires it. She also recognizes that not every case needs to be fought in a courtroom. One of her strengths is finding common ground and reaching resolutions in cases that seem impossible to settle. In her view, effective representation means knowing when to fight, when to negotiate, and how to help clients move forward.

Jessica earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, formerly The John Marshall Law School, and her B.A., with honors, from the University of Iowa. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Jessica grew up in DuPage County and now lives in Kane County with her family and her dog, Dolly. Outside the office, she enjoys playing tennis, going to concerts, and spending time with family. She has volunteered with the Domestic Violence Intervention Program since 2011 and supports animal welfare through the Almost Home Foundation.
